Major fire breaks out at tyre manufacturing unit in Mumbai

A major fire broke out today at the premises of a tyre manufacturing company in Nahur, near the north-eastern suburb of Bhandup, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) disaster control room said.

The fire broke out at CEAT's tyre manufacturing unit at around 5.50 pm, official sources said.

Six fire tenders and two water tankers, besides an ambulance have been rushed to the spot, officials said. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
