The fire which was suspected to have been erupted due to short circuit was controlled in three hours on Saturday.

A major fire broke out in the wee hours of Saturday at a tyre godown in Bhiwandi. No casualties were reported in the incident. The Bhiwandi Municipal Fire Brigade teams rushed to the spot to douse the fire. The Thane rural police had cordoned the area off for safety of the locals.
The incident took place at Vadape village in Bhiwandi. Five fire engines and six water tankers were rushed to the spot to control the fire.
"We had formed five teams to tackle fire and brought it under control. Heavy wind delayed the operation but we have managed to control it," said a senior fire brigade official.
DN Salvi, Chief Fire Officer, Bhiwandi Municipal Fire Brigade department, said, "Our teams are cooling down the fire after controlling it and no casualties have been reported."
