A high alert has been sounded in Maharashtra following the serial blasts in Hyderabad on Thursday evening. The Mumbai police has said that all the important installations in the city have been put under strict scrutiny.
Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjeev Dayal confirmed that not just Mumbai but the entire state has been put on a high alert. “BARC, airport, Mantralaya and all such vital installations will be under strict vigilance,” said special Inspector General Deven Bharti (Law and Order).
“The CISF has beefed up security at the airport as a preventive measure,” said a senior police officer.
In the meantime, the Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad has also began preparations to head to Hyderabad. “A team from Mumbai shall leave for Hyderabad as soon as possible,” said Rakesh Maria, additional director general of police (ATS).
