Maharashtra govt issues notice asking IRB to take measures to prevent accidents on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

The Maharashtra government has issued a notice to IRB Infrastructure to take all preventive measures, including the deployment of intelligent traffic management system, to avoid accidents on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has given IRB a limit of 60 days to comply with the instruction.

Accidents are a common occurrence on the expressway. In June, a major accident took place here where a luxury bus rammed into two cars and fell into a ditch. The collision killed 17 people and around 33 were left injured.
