Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a review meeting on Friday, with an aim to expedite acquisition of the Kanjurmarg plot for the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ underground Metro line, and bring all related legal complications to a logical conclusion.

It was decided during the meeting that the Bombay High Court will be moved to remove the stay order on vacating the plot. According to a state official, the 30-hectare plot, one of the options for the Metro car depot, is under litigation. It belongs to the state, but some people have staked claim on a portion of it, leading to a legal dispute.

The plot is next to the intersection of Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) and Eastern Express Highway (EEH). After the meeting, Fadnavis tweeted, "Took a review of different land issues of Mumbai and Nagpur Metro projects; directed to expedite the work."
