The government has made an allocation of Rs 450 crore in the current fiscal and hopes that a slew of schemes under the Chief Minister Krishi Sinchai Yojana (CMKSY), which is framed on the lines of PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana, will help the farmers from these areas to double their income.

Furthermore, farmers are entitled to Rs 1 lakh for construction of greenhouses or shade nets with 1,000 sq m area. The government will give priority to provide such sops to family members of farmers who have committed suicide, those living below poverty line and widows.

State water resources minister Girish Mahajan said the CMKSY is in addition to Baliraj Sanjivani Yojana to complete irrigation projects in the suicide prone and drought prone areas.

This scheme covers 91 projects, including 83 minor irrigation plans, three major and medium projects in Vidarbha and Marathwada, and five major and medium projects in the rest of the state.
