Love Mumbai: Popular art installation finds permanent home in the city

A typography installation from the Kala Ghoda Festival in Mumbai is getting a permanent place in the city. On Wednesday, the 'Love Mumbai' installation was set up at the Promenade at Bandra Reclamation.

The installation was made for the Kala Ghoda Festival 2016. While Humans of Bombay had started an online petition to make the installation a part of the Mumbai landscape, St+art India put in a request to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to give it a permanent place in the city.

On Wednesday, Aditya Thackeray, head of Shiv Sena's youth wing, announced that the installation had finally found a permanent home at the Bandra Reclamation Promenade.

The installation was designed by Hitesh Malaviya (Rocky) and Hanif Kureshi for an initiative by the art collective St+art India and Asian Paints. On its Facebook page,  St+art India wrote, "Hoping that this typographic installation will become synonymous to Mumbai."

 

Finally have a permanent location for the typographic sculpture Mumbai, placed at the Bandra Reclamation Promenade....
