Leopard sneaks into Vasai cottage, SGNP team start rescue operation

A full grown leopard sneaked into a Vasai cottage, forcing the occupants to scramble out of their residence. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park's rescue team are rescuing the animal.

On Wednesday, early in the morning a full grown leopard sneaked in a Vasai cottage forcing as the residents to rush out of their house in fear. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park's rescue team arrived at 10 am and are rescuing the animal.

The cottage located at Fatherwadi in Vasai East was open from behind and the leopard first stopped near the roadside and after the locals created a noise, the animal went inside the cottage where a woman and her daughter were.

"The animal is stuck in the narrow passage and we have tranquilisers and will get the animal out in couple of hours," said a rescue team official.

A mob gathered outside the house creating a problem as they made a lot of noise.

"The big cat is afraid leading to complications," said the official.

"We will take the leopard to Borivali's Sanjay Gandhi National Park for further treatment and other procedures. The leopard, must have strayed away from the Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in Vasai," said the officials
