Maharashtra state legislative council chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar directed state government to suspend Navi Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagrale and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Tushar Doshi who had issued a letter to file an first information report (FIR) against Jayant Patil, member of Legislative Council (MLC) and leader of Peasants and Workers Party (PWP) and directors of Karnala Bank.

Jayant Patil said that one businessman from Thane had taken the loan from their Karnala cooperative bank, Raigad and he refused to pay the loan amount despite several notices. "So bank decided to attach and auction his property to recover the default amount. The businessman opposed the auctions," Patil said.

He further said that the Navi Mumbai police commissioner Hemant Nagrale pressurised the local police to registered the case against them. "Before registering the police complaint, the commissioner should have sought the details from the bank and it's concern authority. But he did not do. We demanded the strong actions against Nagrale and other police officers who are responsible for this unwarranted and illegal act, " Patil said.
