After the University of Mumbai postponed the law examination for the summer semester to June, students are irked that they would be missing out on opportunities for their higher education.

Additionally, the students are also worried about results being delayed as the varsity took over four months to declare the results of the winter semester examinations.

"The university took over 120 days after the exams of the winter semester to declare all the results. If this repeats, most students would suffer as they wont be able to pursue their higher education in other universities in the absence of a mark sheet" said Sachin Pawar, President of the Student Law Council, adding that it could prove to be "dangerous" for their future.

The Nationalist Student Congress, on Monday, raised concerns about the delayed exams in a letter addressed to the University authorities.

"With the newly introduced system of On-screen Marking(OSM) results of undergraduate courses were delayed which led to the delay in admissions for postgraduate courses. Many PG students want to apply to courses abroad for which their applications begin during the June-July period. The varsity should declare all the results by July 31 to ensure that students don't suffer," said Amol Matele, the city president of the Nationalist Student Congress.

Meanwhile, an official from the university affirmed that there won't be a delay in declaring the results this time as the varsity was completely prepared to quicken the assessment process. "Students would get their results in time and there won't be any chaos," the official added.
