The special branch of Mumbai police has seized laptops, notebooks and computer hard discs from the houses of four youngsters from Thane and Kalyan, who are said to have flown to Baghdad on May 23 to join the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria), which is fighting for a Sunni Muslim-dominated Caliphate in the region.

The four, who are in their 20s are Fahad Shaikh, Arif Majeed, Aman Tandel and Shaheen Tanki. Apparently the Iraqi special forces too have no clue on their whereabouts.

The police said they were trying to find out if these youngsters had some connection with the ISIS from the materials seized from their houses. Cops are also trying to verify whether the news is true or just a prank played by someone.

Last week Arif Majeed's family received a letter from him saying he was taking part in the war. Prior to this, on June 25, Arif had called his family to inquire about their welfare. The other three are also said to have joined the Jihad.

The Iraqi special forces have, in the meanwhile, told the Mumbai special branch that there was no response from Arif's phone, which apparently has been switched off. The Iraqis have already started an investigation into the case.

In his letter to his parents, Arif has said he was sorry for having left them. He has also said he was fine and that he would meet them (his parents) in paradise.

Arif's parents have lodged a 'missing' complaint with the Kalyan police, who have informed senior officials about the matter.

A police officer in Thane commissionerate said they had immediately started an investigation and hoped to get more clues on the case from the materials seized from the houses of the youngsters. Cops have also questioned the friends of these four in the locality. They are also investigating whether the letter is an original or not.

Arif's family is now planning to meet Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and home minister Rajnath Singh.
