The Starbucks culture has truly hit India and how. Every corner of every street is littered with youngsters tucked into coffee houses, punching furiously away on their laptops, surviving on a diet of creamy lattes. Move aside Costas and Baristas as dna takes its readers on a tour of eateries perfect for them and their laptops.

This pocket-sized café wedged between Café Coffee Day and Costa Coffee took birth as only the second bagel shop in town but soon turned into a crowd-pleasing breakfast joint. "The cute ambience won my heart," avers Lokhandwala resident and blogger Aashna Shroff of The Snob Journal, "While we don't have places serving good bagels, the Spreagels and Chilly Maggi are amazing."
Café Grain & Bagel is ideal for casual meetings, working solo or simply to unwind at. Adesh Shetty, Head of Operations, Café Grain & Bagel, informs, "Since we're located near Mithibai College, a large chunk of our customers are students." Though breakfast and evening hours are packed to the hilt, customers are free to lounge for hours at end.
Its Sichuan Maggi, Basil Pesto Maggi and Sandwich Bagel Board are popular choices. For coffee lovers, one can't beat the Iced Mocha. "We also offer a variety of mocktails but do try our Lemongrass and Kiwi Panna," adds Shetty with pride.

Despite being a mere twenty steps off the main Versova Road, The Blackboard Kitchen feels almost like a sanctuary. With its low sofa seating and gigantic coffee table, it has the distinct feel of a shack located somewhere in Goa.
"Our café is not a regular table-chair-waiter kind. Instead, we have customers coming over to work on their laptops, meet new people or simply cocoon themselves away from the city's rut," says co-founder and chef Sama Ankolkar.
Targeting a young health-conscious demographic, its menu offers a range of fresh salads and sandwiches, Cottage Cheese and Spinach, Salami BLT and Sweet Potato Salad being some of the favourites. "I love the relaxed ambience and their egg preparations," shares Versova resident and founder of Mumbai Foodie, Ronak Rajani.

This eatery operates on the concept of a 'home away from home'. Enormously popular with youngsters, its co-owner Sahil Timbadia calls it 'a grandmother's country cottage from a fairy tale'. He elaborates, "It is a neighbourhood hangout that serves comfort food. Familiar items are given an upgrade or a twist." BBQ Burgers, Flower Pot dessert and the Tex-Mex range are some of the fan favourites along with classic variations of tea and coffee. "While our pot of tea is often favoured, we handpick the hot chocolate; all of it ranging around Rs. 100," says Timbadia.
While Sundays are filled to capacity, Mondays are most ideal for writers and bloggers to lounge and work. "I hit the café occasionally because with the access to plenty magazines and books, a juke box and comforting food, my work becomes more interesting," shares Bandra resident and blogger of Big Bhookad, Adarsh Munjal.

Set up in 2012, the Yoga House is a popular haunt for writers and bloggers. Tucked away in Pali Hill, it offers a warm cosy nest that serves healthy, organic food. Other specialities include Quinoa Upma, Bento Box and Quinoa Burger.
