Lalitgate: CM Devendra Fadnavis seeks more clarifications from top cop Rakesh Maria

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that even after explanation along with evidences and documents submitted by Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria on his meeting with Lalit Modi in London, he has sought further clarification on a few points from him.

Speaking to media persons, Fadnavis said even though additional chief secretary (home) KP Bakshi has given a report saying there was no violation of any service rules with Maria's meeting Lalit Modi, he was of the view that there was a need for explanation on a few more points. The chief minister said he has directed Bakshi to seek explanation from Maria on those points.

Fadnavis further informed that he had received Maria's explanation through Bakshi on Wednesday itself. He said Maria's explanation seems proper and there was no violation of IAS or IPS service rules as such. But still he wanted some more clarifications, Fadnavis added.
