The work for the subway resumed again two years ago. As per the information provided by the railways, they have spent Rs3.84 crore, and will be completing tunneling work and staircase. The length of the subway, including parts of both the Central Railway and the BMC will be 128 meters. The tunnel will run beneath the tracks of central and harbour line at the Kalyan-end of the station. The width and height of the tunnel will be 7.60 metre 2.6 metre respectively.

They stated that the work will be completed by December, this year. The BMC, which will be doing the work for approach road, will be spending Rs2.94 crore. "We will complete our part of the work by March 2017," said S O Kori, chief engineer of roads. "The money has been already spent, and if the completion of subway happens early, it will be good for citizens.
