Kurla police release sketch of psycho rapist

Fear looms large in Nehru Nagar, Kurla, following the recovery of a naked, decomposed body of a nine-year-old, Nusrat Shaikh, from an empty room on Saturday. It was the third such incident in four months and as in the earlier cases, the initial post-mortem report has confirmed that the child was raped before being murdered.

The Kurla police on Sunday released a sketch of the suspected rapist-murderer and have picked up 10-12 people for questioning. The police are now working on the leads provided by some children who managed to escape from the clutches of the suspect.

“It has been observed that the suspect’s modus operandi was similar in the three cases, which means the same person is involved in the latest crime,” said a police officer.
