As the Kisan march proceeds to Vidhan Bhavan on Monday, students of class X and XII who are appearing for their SSC and HSC examinations dwelled in anxiety on Sunday.

Students who have their exam centres in South Mumbai were afraid that the traffic load due to the farmer's protest march may lead to delays in reaching the examination centres, especially after the Maharashtra state board's new policy to disallow late-comers from writing examinations.

SSC students will be writing their geometry paper on Monday between 11 am to 1 pm. Those who have opted for general maths would have their paper between 3 pm to 5 pm.

HSC examinations for textiles is slotted between 11 am to 2 pm while the Marathi literature exam will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. State education minister, Vinod Tawde tweeted on Sunday evening, cautioning students to reach their exam centres in advance in order to avoid delays on Sunday evening.

The education department also clarified that the schools in the locality shall remain open on Monday.

"We have not got any instructions regarding the change in timings or shutting schools," said BB Chavan, Education Inspector of the South Zone.
