KDMC begins its voting campaign

Ahead of the elections, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has started campaigning to spread awareness on the importance of casting one's vote. The civic body has installed flex and banners across Kalyan and Dombivli to spread the word around.

"Unfortunately, people usually consider the voting day to be a holiday and rest at home, when in reality it is an important day for a citizen. Everyone should exercise their fundamental right to vote. Hence, on the advice of the collector we put up banners across the twin city," says Prasad Thankur, PRO, KDMC.

These banners have various messages from casting your vote to checking if your name has been registered, all of these has been emphasized on these banners, some of them also talk about how to check if names have been registered in the electoral list and what steps need to be taken to ensure that your name is part of the electoral list.

The banners are not a sore to the eyes in any way as it is being put up behind buses and autos. They are also being put up outside colleges for first time voters and in other public places like bus stops, railway station and markets.
