According to the police sources, Suryavanshi was allegedly instrumental in disposing of the two-wheeler used in Lankesh murder case.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Karnataka Police might take custody of 29-year-old Vasudev Suryavanshi in the murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh. Suryavanshi was recently arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) sleuths from Jalgaon for his alleged involvement in the case wherein the right wing members were held for conspiring terror activities in the state.
According to the police sources, Suryavanshi was allegedly instrumental in disposing of the two-wheeler used in Lankesh murder case. Suryavanshi runs a garage in Sankli area of Jalgaon and had been staying there since past eight years.
"It has been learned that the motorcycle used to conduct recce in Lankesh murder case was disposed of in Beed. We have informed the Karnataka SIT about this fact and they might soon take Suryavanshi's custody. Suryavanshi's questioning has led to us two cars and six two-wheelers that was being used by the right-wing members," said a police officer.
Suryvanshi is currently under ATS custody till September 25.
Last month, ATS had arrested Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar, Sudhnava Ghondhalekar, Shrikant Pangarkar and Avinash Pawar in the said case. The police had seized crude bombs, pistols and explosive material from the group. One of the accused Kalaskar was also involved in the murder of Dr Narendra Dabholkar in Pune, the probe had revealed.
