Kapil Sharma's tweet take political turn while BMC blames him for encroachments

Things took a serious turn when stand-up-comedian turned actor Kapil Sharma took to twitter to share about alleged bribe demads made by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials. Within no time, Sharma's tweets took a political turn and the opposition parties found opportunity to take potshots at the Sena-led BMC on Twitter. Yuva Sena President Aaditya Thackeray requested Sharma to "share the names of the officials" and BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said, "the party will ensure that corruption is removed from the civic body." However Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam said that it is "high time that the corrupt BJP-Sena regime should be dissolved."

Sandèep Deshpande, MNS leader in the BMC also challenged Sharma to give out names of MNS office bearers who have demanded bribe from him Civic officials, hoever have a different story to tell. BMC claims that extensions without permissions were carried out by that stand-up-comedian turned actor Kapil Sharma who recently bought bungalow a was converting it into an office space, the construction for which was going on. The premises bought by Sharma is a ground-plus-one storey bunglow, in row house MHADA layout at Sardar Patel Nagar in Versova area.On July 16, 2016 BMC had sent a notice to Sharma and was expected to submit all documents supporting the construction or face action. However Sharma failed to submit the documents and never replied.

Demolition action were carried out by the ward on 4 August, 2016 and according to sources from the ward office, the demolition charges have to be borne by Sharma as BMC imposed charges. The calculations for the same is being worked out.Sources claim that Sharma's premises also falls under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms as the layout is close to the creek and has mangroves around. Hence the detailed inquiry will be carried out to check whether or not the CRZ norms are violated.
