Folk and Bollywood singer Kailash Kher had to be hospitalised on May 23, soon after he returned from his tour in New York. The Kailasa band frontman was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri (W) following stomach pain.

Dr Ram Narain, executive director, Kokilaben Hospital said: "He was admitted with stomach pain due to gall bladder stones. He has responded to medical treatment and should go home in a few days."
The 41-year-old singer had to cancel his Gujarat tour because of his ill health. Posting a picture on Facebook, he stated that he should not have ignored his health.

His post read: "Ignoring of health, preference to commitment only takes you to places, nobody ever wishes to go to. Big lesson learnt, never take your health lightly even though if you have to have dinner with Obama or are receiving a Nobel. Body takes revenge silently in an untimely way. May God keep my world healthy happy for ever."

Kher first hit the charts with 'Allah Ke Bande,' and went on to create hit songs with 'Teri Deewani' and 'Saiyaan.' He is a popular playback singer for Hindi films, besides singing in Pop-Rock, Indie, Sufi and Folk genres.
