Jury to select top inspiring stories today

Winners In Life: Six-member panel will scrutinise the entries

As part of "Winners in Life" campaign to recognise the brave-hearts who fought the battle with cancer successfully, dna had requested readers to send in inspiring stories about how they fought and won against the dreaded disease.

Today, our eminent jury members — Alyque Padamsey (Ad guru and theatre personality), P S Pasricha (former DGP, Maharashtra Police) Aparna Popat (former Olympian and national badminton champion), YK Sapru (chairman & CEO, Cancer Patients Aid Association), Dr Asha Kapadia (chief of medicine, head dept of oncology at PD Hinduja Hospital) and Dr Jyoti Bajpai (Asst professor, Tata Memorial Hospital) — will be scrutinise the shortlisted entries for the final and six entries will be selected for the award in the patient's category.

The stories have been shortlisted based on the intensity of the ailment, resilience and contribution back to the society.

The one-of-its-kind initiative celebrates the brave souls, who faced the greatest challenge of their lives and lived to inspire others. The cause has been supported by PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) and Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON).

The event will be held on February 18 at the ITC Grand Maratha hotel in Parel and will exclusively capture the heart-touching stories of patients, doctors, nurses and celebrity figures who have battled the life-threatening disease against all odds. The awardees will be 6 patients (2 men, 2 women and 2 youngsters), 8 doctors and 3 nurses.

The celebrities from the field of entertainment, sports & other fields have extended their support for this initiative.
