Defying concerns of a downturn in the economy, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) has yet again proven the worth of its brand with a 100% placement record in its summer placement process for the first year MMS batch.
Eighty three companies took part in the placement procedure, and while the average domestic stipend offered is Rs91,000, the highest is Rs2 lakh.
The institute on Monday declared its summer placement report of the Masters in Management Studies course. The students were offered niche roles in sectors such as consulting, front-end investment banking and media. The top recruiters were Citibank, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Procter & Gamble among others.
The batch, which is a diverse mix of students from a background in engineering to chartered accountancy to medicine, was comprised of 120 students.
Prof Balkrishna Parab, the placement coordinator, was very pleased with the placement report. “Many new companies came to our campus this year,” he said.
Parab also spoke about an interesting initiative by the institute. He said, “Our student development cell conducts a mock placement procedure, where seniors act as recruiters to prepare juniors for the placement interviews. Insights from their seniors are seen as more friendly and timely by the juniors.”
