Sunday witnessed the grand oath-taking ceremony of Jain International Organisation’s (JIO) global directors in the presence of JIO patron Naypadmasagar Maharajsaheb. The event, held at Shanmukhananda Hall, was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MLAs Raj Purohit, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Ashish Shelar, and Narendra Mehta.
It also had Robby Wells, the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential candidate for USA, who took an oath that he would have vegetarian food twice a week, said Kirti Shah, associate member of JIO.
Fadnavis said in addition to religious and spiritual work, JIO is contributing to nation-building. He lauded JIO’s work in disaster relief. A magazine of JIO was also launched. Saurabh Bora, JIO executive chairman, said he will sponsor 36 students for civil services exams. “Bora has invited Wells for high tea at Trident,” said Shah.
