Towards the ends, Bal Thackeray's estranged son and nephew, Jaidev and Raj Thackeray, respectively, too regularly inquired about his health and well being, Lilavati hospital's Dr Jaleel Parkar told the Bombay high court on Wednesday.

Parkar conducted daily check-ups on the late Shiv Sena supremo since November-December 2007. He was being examined as a witness in the HC, which is hearing the dispute between Thackeray's sons, Sena party president Uddhav and Jaidev.

In his last will of December 13, 2011, Thackeray has not left a farthing for Jaidev, from who he was estranged. Jaidev has disputed the will saying his father was of unsound mind and that Uddhav influenced him.

Parkar, who passed MBBS in 1982 and specialises in pulmonary medicine, was treating Thackeray for chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. He said the late leader had been "chronically ill" since 2007.

Jaidev's counsel Seema Sarnaik asked Parkar with whom he (Parkar) used to discuss Thackeray's health and medical treatment, to which Parkar replied Uddhav and his wife. "I discussed (about Thackeray's health) with his sons, including Jaidev, towards the end." With Uddhav and his family, Parkar said, he discussed Thackeray's health on a daily basis.

He also said even Raj Thackeray and his family would inquire about Thackeray's health. "I would discuss with Mr and Mrs Raj Thackeray. And also with Smita Thackeray (widow of Thackeray's elder son Bindumadhav) and Madhvi Thackeray, whenever they inquired."

On a question from Sarnaik, Parkar said he has also treated Uddhav and Raj Thackeray's mothers on a few occasions.

Justice Gautam Patel has kept the matter for further hearing on June 10, when he will decide when to call Sena leader Anil Parab, who is one of the plaintiffs seeking probate of Thackeray's will.

Apart from being Thackeray's doctor, Parkar signed his will as an attesting witness.
