The Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected a discharge application by Jigna Vora, an accused in the murder case of journalist J Dey, after the prosecution told the court it has enough evidence to prove her role in the crime.
Vora, a former journalist, was arrested in November 2011 and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act and the Arms Act.
Vora’s discharge application pleaded that she had been wrongly implicated. She has been listed as the 11th accused. The police believe she fed information to gangster Chhota Rajan that led to Dey’s murder in 2011.
