In a raid, cops rescue one girl & a minor from flesh trade

In a raid at Kalher in Bhiwandi, the Thane anti-human traffic cell rescued two from flesh trade, of which one is a minor. The raid took place around 7.45pm on November 17 within the jurisdiction of Narpoli police station.

The cops also arrested the accused manager and a lady pimp, who is the mother of the minor. The accused has been identified as Pappu Yadav (18) and Jyoti Tripan Madyul (34).

A case under sections 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave), 370a (exploitation of a trafficked person), 372 (selling minor for purposes of prostitution, etc) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of The Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) has been registered.

During the raid, the police have recovered Rs76,652 and also came to know that the accused had forced the minor into prostitution and the accused used to spend the money earned on himself.

An official from the anti-human trafficking unit said, "We have registered the case with the Narpoli police station and we are investigating. The rescued girls will be sent to woman welfare department."
