Comedian Kapil Sharma seems not to be the only person who has been on the wrong side of law in in Andheri (West) area as owners of other unauthorised structures continue to go scot-free despite being brought to senior civic officials' notice.

The illegal construction in question is at Kapaswadi on Juhu Versova Link Road which has even partially encroached upon the pavement.

In the course of Ganpati celebrations earlier this month, a floor was added and a passage to it through the staircase was provided by building on a part of the footpath.

The shop selling lottery tickets from a space of around 25 sq. ft. added a floor during the holidays. "Construction activities happen either during holidays or at night so that no one interferes in their work," said a source.

"As a part of 'Walking Project' we're are taking up roads where pedestrians are facing obstacles while walking on pavements or places where there aren't any footpaths. We will be taking up this road too with the local civic authorities of K-West ward," said Rishi Aggarwal, an activist.

The Assistant Municipal Commissioner of K-West Parag Masurkar too was informed about the illegal activities and pavement being partially blocked on Monday, but no action has been initiated against it yet.

Meanwhile, attempts were made on Wednesday to approach Masurkar for his version on why action wasn't taken, but he did not respond to any calls or messages.
