If Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders feel that the Narendra Modi wave still exists in Maharashtra, then why does the party need him to hold so many rallies in the state, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray questioned on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, Thackeray said, "Till date in my life I have not seen any prime minister conducting so many rallies to campaign for the party in the state. If there is a Modi wave, then why does BJP want Modi to hold 20-25 rallies?"

"I have no issues with the Prime Minister, and that is why I still call him 'Narendra Bhai'. I have a good opinion of him and I see him as a good person," Thackeray added.

Mentioning that he still has not understood the reason why the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance came to an end, Thackeray said, "The Sena-BJP alliance was made on the basis of Hindutva and not seat sharing. BJP should try to find out the reason behind their break-up with the alliance partners in other states."

When asked if he was in touch with Raj Thackeray, Uddhav mockingly said, "Yes, I called him to to ask about the condition of his health, but why should this bother others?"

Thackeray further noted, "I want to win the election and I am not willing to criticise the BJP."
