Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday, speaking at a ‘Mega Business Conference’ organised by the Jain International Organisation (JIO), a Jain body, said that the reason for drought and farmer deaths is the disappearance of cows.

“If there are cows, there will be a tomorrow. Places with low population of cows are slowly becoming infertile. Cow’s milk is ‘amrut’ and a cow’s urine is also ‘amrut’. Every state must make sure they protect cows,” said Fadnavis.

Among others present were Vijay Rupani, central minister of Gujarat, Arjun Meghwal, minister of state for finance and corporate affairs in the central government, BJP city chief Ashish Shelar, Naypadmasagar Maharajsaheb, the force behind JIO, and around 1,000 Jains.
