Eti Agarwal from Lucknow stood first in the all-India exam with a score of 599 out of 800, while Piyush Lohia stood second with a score of 574.
Three students from Lucknow, Bhiwandi and Ahmedabad topped the Chartered Accountants (CA) final examination held in November 2016. This year the pass percentage of both groups, that is group I and II, is 11.57 percent. Out of 36,768 students only 4,256 passed their final CA examination.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared its CA final examination results on Tuesday. In group I, a total of 37,200 candidates appeared in the final exam, of whom 2,655, or 7.14 per cent, passed. In group II, 36,896 candidates appeared, of whom 4,545 or 12.32 per cent passed the final examination.
Two girls and one boy have topped this year's CA final examination. Eti Agarwal from Lucknow stood first in the all-India exam with a score of 599 out of 800. The second all-India topper was Piyush Ramesh Lohia from Bhiwandi, who scored 574 out of 800 marks. Jyoti Maheshwari from Ahmedabad, is the third all-India topper, scoring 566 out of 800 marks.
Piyush Lohia, resident of Bhiwandi said, "Though I had studied enough and knew I would get a merit rank, I never expected to stand second." Lohia completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Mulund College of Commerce. "My only struggle was attending college in Mulund and then going to Dadar for articleship which use to take me more then three hours. Still, I managed to study hard. My cousins who are also Chartered Accountants were a of lot of help to me. I always wanted to pursue this profession and my younger brother is also preparing for CA," he said.
In addition, the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) results held in December 2016 was also out on Tuesday. Out of 70321 candidates, 32650 cleared, that is 46 percent.
