I did my best for the city: Ahmad Javed

Mumbai police commissioner Ahmad Javed, who demits his office on Saturday and retires from the force, stated that someday he will pen down his memories as a policeman.

Talking about his tenure as the top cop, Javed said: "I am glad that I could do my best for the city, when I took over as the commissioner. It was the period of festivals across the country and we did a fantastic job of maintaining law and order in the city. We carried out good bandobast during the time of Bakri Eid, Ganeshotsav, the Mount Mary festival and Republic Day."

He was recently appointed as Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia by the central government and is likely to take up the new assignment in two weeks time after completion of the formalities.
