She’s Hyderabad’s favourite pin-up girl and predictably hogged the limelight when she turned up to cheer for home team Deccan Chargers during the inaugural IPL tournament in 2008. For some reason it turned out to be Sania Mirza’s last outing for the franchise owned by newspaper baron Venkattram Reddy, but his pretty daughter Gayatri who had almost gone unnoticed that year shot into the limelight at subsequent editions for “adding a refreshing dose of glamour”.

From auctions, team selection, endorsements, interviews and match nights, the University College of London graduate was everywhere - till of course the franchise was dissolved in unfortunate circumstances last year. While we hear that relations between the two Hyderabadi beauties haven’t exactly been cordial, the last thing we expected was a vicious spat on Twitter over an alleged slight to Sachin Tendulkar.

After the former DC mascot took umbrage at one of Sania’s comment about the master blaster, the startled tennis player deleted the “offensive” message - but that wasn’t the end of the story. The cat-fight played out in full glory as Gayatri hit out at “Pakistani Sania Mirza” for the “anti-Sachin” comment, while Sania mumbled about the futility of arguing with an “idiot”. The back and forth included taunts of “Pakistan Ratna” and “some people need to get a life” before an uneasy truce was reached - but not before Gayatri suggested signing up for Bigg Boss for some “masala fights”. Mercy please, we’re not interested.
