Different boards conducting the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Class XII  exams will have to speed up their evaluation process this academic year. If the results are not declared by June 30, 2013, then the candidate will not be considered for an all India ranking even if they clear the IIT-JEE (Main). This paper will determine admissions to non-IIT engineering institutes across India.

An information bulletin released by the Central Board of Secondary Education, which will be conducting the IIT-JEE (Main), clearly states this.

This is the first year that the reformed IIT-JEE pattern will be implemented. In this, these marks have been given a weightage of 40%.

Therefore, the test conducting authority needs to have these marks ready for candidates appearing for the JEE (Main). This ranking will determine admissions to Under Graduate (UG) Engineering Programmes at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutes, those funded by several participating state governments and several other institutes.

The guidelines released further states that aspirants should not attempt the JEE (Main) if they are expecting their results after June 30, 2013.

Registrations for the IIT-JEE (Main) begins on November 8. The online registration on the official website will continue till December 25.
