The Legislative Assembly paid rich tributes to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and scientist CNR Rao on being awarded the Bharat Ratna. A resolution to congratulate Tendulkar and Rao was passed unanimously and the members got up to give them a standing ovation. However, Shiv Sena’s Thane legislator Eknath Shinde raised the issue of finance minister Sunil Tatkare not having fulfilled his promise to build a grand sports museum in the name of Tendulkar. Shinde said that if the government really wants to acknowledge Tendulkar’s contribution to cricket, it must implement the the promise that was made three years ago.
