Home-bound: Rly stn, bus stands bustling

To address the issue, Rajasthan Roadways has decided to run extra trips during the festival across the state to accommodate the waiting passengers.

Diwali is upon us and railway stations and bus stands are witnessing milling crowd as commuters are heading homewards for celebration. Therefore enormous rush is witnessed in spite of the best efforts made by the Rajasthan Roadways and Railways to ensure smooth movement. The ones who have not made reservation in time are struggling to go back home.

To address the issue, Rajasthan Roadways has decided to run extra trips during the festival across the state to accommodate the waiting passengers.

While the private bus operators are minting money by charging more than the normal rate from the people who are desperate to go home.

Railways too has added extra coaches on trains running on many routes. In the latest addition, the coaches have been added in Udaipur New Jalpaigudi weekly train. With this increase, passengers boarding or deboarding the train at Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Gorakpur, Chapra, Katihar and other stations will get additional 64 births in third AC category.

A large number of people travel form Jaipur to Bihar and UP and this increase in coach will be beneficial for them. Similarly, temporary addition in the number of coaches in Delhi Sarai Bikaner Express has also been made. One coach of third AC has been added. This will help passengers travelling to and from Gurgaon, Rewari, Luharu, Churu, Ratangarh and other stations. One coach of third AC has also been included in Ajmer Chandigarh Garib Rath express.
