The course of actor Salman Khan's life will be altered late in the morning three weeks from now. The Sessions court on Tuesday said that it would deliver the judgment in the alleged hit-and-run case on May 6.

Presided over by Judge DW Deshpande, the court claimed that it would need a minimum of 15 days to prepare the judgment. The actor had allegedly rammed his vehicle onto the pavement, killing one and injuring four people sleeping there, on September 28, 2002.

The court was about to pass the verdict on May 5, but since the prosecution was bound by some personal commitment, it was postponed to May 6. "The court will pass the verdict on May 6, sharp at 11.15 am," said special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat.

The prosecution had examined a total 27 witnesses in the case, of which one witness, Sachin Kadam was declared as hostile, after he failed to support the prosecution.

The defence produced one witness, the actor's chauffeur, Ashok Singh. In his deposition, Singh had claimed that he was the one who was behind the wheel when the car met with the accident. Singh claimed that it was an 'Act of God', since there was a tyre burst, and because of which the steering of the car became difficult, leading to the accident.

However, through its cross examination the prosecution had suggested that going by the extended time which the driver took to depose the fact, clearly showed that entire story was 'not right'.

Meanwhile, the court disposed of the applications filed by the defence as well as the prosecution pleading the court to issue a content notice against two media houses for publishing the photographs of the police recreating the scene of the offence.
