'Clean KDMC App' which was started with a view to maintain cleanliness in and around Kalyan and Dombivli is facing roadblock as all concerned health inspectors are not having android phones and hence, they cannot have an access to the uploaded pictures and take appropriate actions thereafter.

The much hyped 'Clean KDMC App' was inaugurated to keep city clean and residents had been asked to send pictures from their areas stating problem which would be addressed by health inspector. The initiative which kicked off well, later went on back burner as complaints were not entertained.

The officials from KDMC said, "We received complaints which continued to pour in over a period of time but action could not be taken as the health inspectors are not equipped with android phones for effective results."

Residents of Kalyan and Dombivli were shocked that how corporation could take such an immature decision. In fact they should first assess the requirements and then come up with an App rather just leaving it all mid-way.

Alok shinde, a Kalyan resident said, "Though initiative taken by them was good, it is observed that more often that the corporation lacks vision while planning. They plan in haste and try and implement the plan without its considering pros and cons."

It has been more than six months since the app is launched and now, they have realised that health inspector lacks android phones to access the application.

The residents also said that a provision should have been made earlier. Either android phones could have been made available to inspectors or any other alternate arrangements to be made to resolve the issue.

An official requesting anonymity said, "Lack of resources have definitely affected the app and we are working to resolve the problem. We have thought about making a simcard available to the officials and would also see what else we can do help resolving the issue."
