The two-day Health and Wellness show 2016, organised by dna at Malad's In-Orbit Mall, attracted huge crowds on Saturday. Several stalls, including those by Healthspring, Ayushakti Ayurveda Pvt Ltd, Nurture Health Clinic, TCI-Star Health Products, Trica Hair Clinic, Zerosugar, Hush pillows and Brad Ayurveda, showcased a wide array of products, ranging from skin and haircare ointments and lotions to pulse rate detectors. In addition, a stall made registrations for dna's ICan Women's half marathon, scheduled to be held on March 6 this year.

Ravi Samuel, who attended the event, said he got his pulse checked at the Ayushakti Ayurveda stall and was happy with the result. "I didn't spend a single rupee and was given an in-depth analysis of my health, along with some free samples," he said.

Darshana Madhukar Sase and Sanjay Sawant, who represented Brad Ayurveda, had several products on display, including those that helped aching joints and aided digestion. "I have been doing this since 2011. I have been extremely successful in my business. It is good that dna has organised such a health show. I believe there should be more such events," she said.

Neha Pareek of Zerosugar said the product was made from stevia, which had no side effects. "It can also be used for headaches and weight gain," she said, adding the response has been good with several people purchasing the product.

The Nurture team said they had a plenty of products, but clients were more focussed on the weight loss capsules. "Nothing, however, is instant and people, particularly the junk-food generation, need to realise that if they want to lose weight, they not only need exercise but also products like ours, which can help them in the long run," said Steve Ferns, team manager at Nurture. Ferns added he was happy with the response he received during the show.

Sudhir Vagal, a resident of Andheri (W), said the event was a good experience, although, he admitted, he didn't learn anything new about himself as he goes for regular check-ups. "More such initiatives should be conducted," he added. The event will conclude on Sunday evening.
