'He touched my hands, tried to come closer': Woman accuses Uber driver of molestation

In yet another incident, a woman was allegedly molested by a Uber driver in Mumbai while she was on her way to home from Cumballa Hill.

The incident took place on Wednesday night near the Bandra-Worli Sea Link while she was returning from her cousin's home, reported Mid-Day.

According to a complainant, a resident of Andheri, the driver initiated a conversation with her and started asking her personal questions after she got into the cab.

The woman has claimed that the driver went on to ask her where was she from and if her family was based in Mumbai. He then started talking about himself and his work. But since her phone was conked off and she couldn't appear to stay busy, she just heard him out and responded.

She also claimed that the driver had asked her to sit in the front seat of the car and asked her to watch a random video on his phone.

"Two minutes after crossing the sea link toll-naka, he stopped the car and got down. He came behind to show me another video. I asked him to go back to his seat and drive, but he didn't listen and touched my hands, trying to come closer. I somehow managed to open the door and get out," the woman claimed.

The woman then got off the car and rushed back to the toll-naka where the attendant helped her get another cab, which took her home.

A complaint has been registered at Bandra police station and police are investigating the matter.
