About 10 days after civic chief Sitaram Kunte told media that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) may need to impose water cut in the city and may go for cloud seeding, the civic administration has assured the standing committee that BMC has enough water stock for this year.

The city will not face water shortage this year, even if it sees less rainfalls during the monsoon, the civic body has assured. According to a report presented at the standing committee meeting on Wednesday, the city would not face water crunch even if the city received 80% rain this monsoon.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the city may face 94% rain this time. However, according to the report presented, dams have stored 40% extra water than last year's stock.
According to the report, the extra water will last for approximately three months.
