The Dainik Bhaskar INK Awards 2014, organised by the Exchange4media group, on Thursday saw dna bag three awards — Campaign of the Year-National for 'Good is in our dna', Best Copywriting-Campaign for dna ICan Women's Half Marathon 2013 and the Best Contextual Newspaper Advertising-Regional for Adopt a Smoker.
The awards were given away at a glittering ceremony at ITC Grand Central in Lower Parel.
dna is the only English daily in India to have bagged the maximum number of awards.
The 'Good is in our dna' campaign, which encouraged readers' participation in a series of 'good' initiatives, won a silver. The creatives were developed and designed by Infectious. For Asia's first and India's only women's half marathon, dna ICan Women's Half Marathon 2013 won a bronze, while it was a silver for Adopt a Smoker, a campaign which again engaged readers and asked them to adopt a friend/family member, whom they could help to kick the butt. It was launched on Anti-Tobacco Day and culminated on Friendship Day.
The INK Awards endorsed and celebrated innovation in newspaper advertising by creative agencies, media agencies, newspaper publishers and advertisers, among others. The award entries were judged by a jury chaired by Shashi Sinha, CEO, IPG Mediabrands India. The jury members included Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors; Satyajit Sen, CEO, ZenithOptimedia; Ravi Bharadwaj, executive director (marketing), Dell; Pradeep Dwivedi, chief corporate sales & marketing officer, Dainik Bhaskar Group | DB Corp; Girish Shah, executive vice president (sales and marketing), Godrej Properties; Sandeep Sharma, president, RK Swamy Media Group; and Anand Chakravarthy, head (West), Maxus.
The screening committee included other distinguished names from the media, marketing and broadcast industry.
