The police department has revealed that Hasnain Warekar had studied deeply about the drugs used in the medicine as he acquired it and later laced the liquid with sedatives on the night of the mass killing.

The killer surfed the internet for information found in the history of his browser which is now being examined by the investigators. Reports have also revealed that none of the victims were sexually assaulted by the killer.

Warekar, 35, a resident of Kasarwadavali has on the night of February 28 invited his sisters and their children kids for daawat where tandoori, mutton khichda, falooda, biryani, mutton, samosa, kebabs and cold drinks were served to the family members. Later, he slit their throats using a sharp cleaver, killing his parents, wife, kids and his sisters. However, one of them survived the attack. Seven kids and six women were killed by sedating the food and cold drink.

A senior police officer from the investigating team revealed, "We have received the reports which suggests that high quantity of drug was traced in the viscera of victims, apart from Hasnain, which confirms our theory that he had planned the killings a month ahead as he had also researched about the drugs on his laptop."

"The drug called Clonazepam has been found in the blood samples and the cyber team has found that Hasnain, a week before committing the crime, had done in-depth study about the drugs which could be used as a sedative to make his victims helpless," added the officer.

"The sexual assault on his sister Baitul as revealed by the sole surviving sister Subiya has been taken into consideration more as the incident took place after he heard the conversation at a party. His investments of Rs4 crore and share market debacle are other angels being looked into as the motive," said Ashutosh Dumbare, joint commissioner of police, Thane.

Hasnain did not sexually abuse victims

Though the police were initially suspecting that Warekar had sexually assaulted any of the victims in the house, the forensic reports have revealed that none of the family members had marks or injuries of sexual assault.

"Hasnain was found without his undergarments and was hanging on the ceiling fan while his wife was found semi nude near the kitchen and staircase lobby supposedly fallen from the first floor during the attack," said an official.

"Forensic reports have revealed that none of the family members had any signs of sexual assault. We are awaiting reports of other family members but the samples of food is yet to be examined," added the officer.
