Hardik Patel to address 50 meetings in Gujarat

One of the youngest faces of Congress party in Gujarat and Patidar leader Hardik Patel will have a hectic schedule, addressing close to 50 public meetings till April 21. Hardik is one of the star campaigners for the party and therefore entitled to travel in a chopper.

His travel plans mainly focus on Saurashtra and to a certain extent in north Gujarat, where Patidars are influential. These two regions gave Congress the most seats in Vidhan Sabha elections in 2017.

His travel schedule began on Sunday, when he travelled to Jamnagar. He addressed rallies at Kalavad, Dhrol, Canki and Latipur in Jamnagar Lok Sabha constituency. On Monday he will join Congress president Rahul Gandhi at Amreli and then fly off to campaign in Surendranagar and Rajkot constituencies.

On April 16, he will address meetings at Bhayavadar, Upleta, Keshod and Dhoraji in Porbandar Lok Sanj constituency, while on April 17, he will campaign in Mehsana and Patan.

As per sources, Hardik will travel to Panchmahal on April 18 and to Morbi, Botad, Mendarda and Manavadar on April 19.

He will campaign in Ahmedabad East and Ahmedabad West constituencies on April 20 and will head back to Jamnagar on April 21 which is the last day of campaigning for the third phase of voting on April 23. Voting in all 26 seats in Gujarat will take place on April 23.

At one of the rallies in Jamnagar on Sunday, he said that it was during Congress' rule that India had balanced relations with USA and USSR. He gave credit to technological advancement of India to the leadership of late Rajiv Gandhi. "It was amid a scenario of global technology denial that India had made super computers during Rajiv Gandhi's time," he said.

SCHEDULE
