Mumbai’s Harbour Line service that connect the city to the satellite town of Navi Mumbai were affected on Thursday morning after a overhead equipment cable the device that supplies power to the train snapped at Sewri at around 7 am.
As a result, services between Wadala Road and Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus were affected, thereby causing chaos during morning rush hour.
A CR spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying that it took place between Sewri and Wadala Road on the Down line
However, Sunil Udasi, Chief PRO, Central Railway said: "The trains between Wadala Road and Andheri and Wadala Road and Panvel are running normally."
Due to some technical problem in OHE on Down harbour line between Sewri & Vadala Road station, Harbour line trains are delayed. We are trying to normalise services as soon as possible. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
