He dreamt of pulling her out of the flesh trade and give her a better life, so much so that he had even made all the arrangements to help her return to her native Bangladesh. However, due to her last minute refusal to accompany him, he murdered his paramour at Alexander junction near Kamatipura on Tuesday.

S Kumaran, who surrendered himself after the alleged murder of Kajal alias Rafiza Shaikh, told the police that he was madly in love with Kajal. "He told us he was moved by her story that she was pushed into prostitution by her husband and has two small kids to take care off in her native place", said S. Jayakumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone III.

Kumaran also informed the police that he would deposit Rs 5,000 in Kajal's account each month so she could support her family. "On the fateful day, Kumaran claimed he had come to take Kajal back to Bangladesh. He had even arranged for the passports and money for the trip".

However things did not turn out as planned.
