A notorious criminal, wanted by the Gujarat police, has been arrested by the Amboli police on Friday from Andheri. The suspect was wanted in three murder cases and an arms case by the Ahmedabad police. He is also suspected to be involved in a high profile LG Hospital murder case of Ahmedabad.
The arrested person has been identified as Rajesh Prakash Rawal alias Raju Marwadi (28).
According to the police, specific information was received by former encounter specialist and police sub-inspector Daya Nayak that Rawal would be arriving near Infinity Mall. Subsequently, a trap was laid and Rawal was apprehended. The police have recovered two mobile phones from him.
"Rawal was staying in Mumbai since past one week. Before Mumbai, he stayed in Daman for some time. It is a big catch for Gujarat police. Rawal is also suspected to be involved in a high profile LG Hospital murder case of Ahmedabad. We have intimated Gujarat police about his arrest and they would soon send their team to take his custody. We are probing with who others Rawal was in touch with Mumbai," said another police officer.
