Maharashtra government has published the district-wise Rs 36 lakh farmer loan waiver list, but it is riddled with errors and discrimination.

Chief minister's office had tweeted the list of the farmers late on Monday night with district-wise details on farmers. The list says that there are 813 farmers whose loans have been waived off.

DNA went through the list and it has no mention of Wardha district. Besides, as per the tweeted list, the government has waived off the Rs 2.49 lakh farmers loan in Buldhana district, however, as per the government record, there are only Rs 2.35 lakh farmers in the district.

"I am amazed with the farmers loan waiver list. It has a lot of errors and discrepancies," alleged Ashok Chavan, president of Maharashtra Congress Pradesh Committee.

Chavan questioned how the head of state and administrative could display such carelessness while preparing the farmers loan waiver list. "Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should apologise immediately for this major goof up. He should not waste his time covering it up and pushing it under carpet. This is a very serious issue, " Chavan said.

"I was chief minister of Maharashtra for several years and never came across farmers in Mumbai. Besides there no agricultural land in the city, so there is no questions of farmers. Now the government(in the tweet) is saying there farmers in Mumbai. So let's see," Chavan said.
