Government bodies seldom register their projects: CREDAI-MCHI

One of their members even wrote to RERA about it, and he himself raised the issue on Monday at an event in Pune where the topmost officials were present.

Apex developer body CREDAI-MCHI says it doesn't mind taking government bodies like CIDCO and others to court if they do not register themselves with MahaRERA, while selling plots or leasing them to developers.

Rajesh Prajapati, a reputed developer who heads the Public Relations Department of CREDAI National as well as CREDAI-MCHI, claims that during the first year anniversary of MahaRERA this issue was raised. One of their members even wrote to RERA about it, and he himself raised the issue on Monday at an event in Pune where the topmost officials were present.

"The law is clear as per Section 3 of MahaRERA Act. MahaRERA number is required even if one wants to lease plots," said Prajapati.

Earlier, when CIDCO came out with advertisements of flats to be sold in the market, they had registration numbers for only a few projects. Mumbai Grahak Panchayat had raised the issue and on the same evening, the corporation managed to get the registration number for other projects too.

When asked, Adv Shirish Deshpande, chairman, Mumbai Grahak Panchayat about the same, he said, "Of the 11 projects registered by CIDCO only two were registered. When we objected, they managed to obtain MahaRERA registration for rest projects on the same day."

Repeated attempts to contact Lokesh Chandra, MD, CIDCO, and messages sent to him got us no response.

ALLEGATIONS

Earlier, when CIDCO came out with advertisements of 11 projects, only 2 of them were registered with MahaRERA. After Mumbai Grahak Panchayat raised the issue, it got the rest of the projects registered on the same day
