An FIR has been lodged against the Goa police team at Mumbai's Saki Naka police station under charges of forgery, fraud, cheating and kidnapping after three policemen arrived in a stolen cars with fake license plates, for investigating a false case. dna has a copy of the same.

On March 6, 2016, Powai-resident businessman Kishore Keswani's car was waylaid by two cars at Chandivali market. Mahesh Kerkar the police sub inspector of the Anjuna of North Goa police station emerged from the Ertiga Car (GJ 06 FC 6321) blocking Keswani's car from the front, tapped on Keswani's car window asking for him.

Keswani told dna, "When I saw notorious international bookie Anil Jaisinghani who I'm fighting against since April 2015 because he grabbed my land in Ulhasnagar, in the driver's seat with the policeman, I realised something's fishy," he added "I told Kerkar I'm not Keswani and asked my driver to turn the car. But an Innova (MH05 AX 9808) driven by Jaisinghani's brother-in-law Hiro Kewalramani blocked us from behind." "I realised I could be kidnapped and made to sign away the land under threat, so I called my nephew Deepak to alert the Saki Naka police," he says.

The Goa police team claimed that they had flown down, to arrest Keswani on the basis of an FIR which names "Kishore Vaswani" (copy of the FIR with dna) "for intoxicating and raping a 22-year-old resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh in a Goa hotel on the intervening night between Feb 10 and 11th, 2016."

However, it was proved through CCTV footage that Keswani indeed was attending the marriage ceremony on the February 10 and 11 in Ulhasnagar which is about 580kms from Goa. The call data records also substantiates that Keswani was in Ulhasnagar when the crime took place.

Later, Urmila Vasant Malvankar, owner of the hotel Goan Darbar where the rape allegedly happened, and manager Anand Prakash Yadav identified bookie Jaisinghani from a photograph shown to them by police, that it was he who was with the "rape victim" in the hotel that night.

It was also established that Jaisinghani flew to Goa on an alias Bhagwandas Anil (Bhagwandas is his late father's name) on February 9th, 2016 (copy of the ticket with dna). Anil also bought flight tickets for the Goa police team Mahesh Kerkar, Tirtharaj Mhamal and Suhas Joshi from his own debit card for arresting Keswani, he also drove the trio in a stolen car with a fake license plate.

PI Someshwar Kamthe of the Saki Naka police said further investigations were ongoing in the matter. Kerkar, Mhamal and Joshi of the Goa police remained unavailable for comments despite repeated attempts made by dna.
