In a touching and heartbreaking gesture, double amputee Monika Ashok More, who lost both her hands in a railway accident at Ghatkopar station, wrote a congratulatory message to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The CM was visibly moved and could hardly control his emotions when he said that it was the best greeting he has received after assuming charge.

Eighteen handicapped persons visited the chief minister's office and offered their congratulations to the new CM. Yuvak Pratishthan, led by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, had brought the delegation to meet Fadnavis.

Monika Ashok More was a class XII student when lost both her arms in a train accident and now has artificial limbs. In the case of Komal Sandeep Garasia, she born without hands and was provided with artificial hands only this Diwali. She is a second year art student.

Fadnavis said, "It is a most touching moment and this is the best greeting I have received in this office. I pray to God that all those here double their determination and fighting spirit so that they never have to look back." Komal and Monika could not hide their jubilation at meeting the CM and said, "We never imagined that we would ever be in this chief minister's office or meet the CM. We are touched by his simplicity and humility." Somaiya said Yuvak Pratishthan would impart skills to almost 100 of them so that they can earn their own livelihood.
